Le mois de mai 2008 va permettre le début de la campagne expérimentale FEUX 2008.
Orchestrée par l'équipe feu, cette campagne va débuter par une expériementation sans précédent (au niveau humain et matériel) sur la commune de Letia en Corse du Sud durant 4 jours.
Dans le cas des réseaux de capteurs sans fil, ces expérimentations sont dans la continuité de ma thèse et des travaux entrepris sur la commune de Noceta en 2007. A la différence, c'est que nous disposons à présent de 12 capteurs MICAz dernière génération. Ce nombre plus important, va nous permettre d'étudier le feu en deux dimensions et de valider notre étude sur les stratégies de déploiement (un des points importants de ma thèse). L'objectif est double :
- collecter des informations à l'aide d'un nouveau système intrusif ;
- valider un nouvel outil de prévention, de détection, de suivi des feux de forêts.

La partie expérimentale constitue un élément complémentaire indispensable à notre étude
théorique. Les données recueillies autorisent un optimisme raisonnable quant à la future utilisation des réseaux de capteurs sans fil dans la lutte contre les feux de forêt. La qualité des informations, même si elles méritent d'être complétées, montrent que deux phénomènes physiques (déshydratation et combustion), propres au phénomène feu, sont détectés et parfaitement observables sur les courbes obtenues. Le sytème de protection pour les capteurs face au phénomène feu de forêt a montré ses capacités et représente une réelle avancée dans l'étude du phénomène. En protégeant naturellement les structures dans notre cadre expérimental, il améliore la quaité des données mesurées. Seules les valeurs seuils au niveau de la température nous pose un problème. Ces expériences vont être complétées dans le cadre d'un prochaine expérience sur la commune de Luri. Cependant cette étude n'est qu'une ébauche. En effet, elle doit être complétée par le test d'un réseau de capteurs sans fil plus important, qui constitue l'une de nos perspectives majeures de recherche.

Le 20 juin 2007, une expérience a été menée sur la commune de Noceta. Dans la perspective d'une application des réseaux de capteurs sans fil dans la lutte contre les feux de forêts, nous avons étudié le comportement des senseurs à l'intérieur d'un feu. Cette étude a été réalisé en collaboration de l'équipe feu de l'Université de Corse, en particulier Mr Frédéric Morrandini et Mr Xavier Silvani. Les premiers résultats sont concluants et montrent la capacité des capteurs à detecter le feu et à suivre son passage. Cependant cette étude a montré certains problèmes de communication, vis à vis de la communication sans fils.

Fin mai 2007, le temps est venu de faire un point sur notre recherche sur les réseaux de capteurs. Cette thèse commencé en Mars 2005 touche à sa fin. Les principaux objectifs sont atteints. Nous avons réalisé une modélisation d'un réseau de capteurs à l'aide du formalisme DEVS et intégrer au sein d'une application pour la simulation appelé DEVS-WSN. Cela nous a permis de mettre en avant des caractérisitiques particulières dans l'utilisation de ces capteurs dans la problématique des feux de forêts. Nous avons déterminé le type de protocole les plus approprié dans cette utilisation particulière et réfléchit sur les stratégies de déploiement.
La soutenance est prévue pour la fin décembre 2007.

Thèse soutenue le 14 décembre 2007 avec la mention : Très Honorable.

Prix décerné à l'Université de Corse pour le projet de dématérialisation des conventions de stages. Projet initié en 2003 lors de mon curus de DESS CCI. Actuellement dans sa version finale, l'application a été présentée par Christophe Paoli, MCF en Informatique et moi-même lors de la journée organisée du CNFPT dans le cadre de l'innovation territoriale.

Les différentes sessions qui ont constiuées ce séminaire, ont permis aux ingénieurs et dévellopeurs présents, de poser des questions et assister aux démonstrations des trois intervenants américains de la société Crossbow. Durant ce séminaire les différentes avancées au niveau réseau (ZigBee), ressources materielles (plate-forme MICA2, MICAz et MICA2DOT) et logicielles ( MOTE-VIEW et SURGE-VIEW) ont pu metre mis en avant et discuter. De plus, une large partie a été consacrée à la constitution et au développement du système d'exploitation TINYOS mais également des diverses applications Java utiliséé sur les diiférentes plate-formes (Deluge, modèle de propagation de données). Installé dans un cadre idyllique, (entre Como et Cernorbio, au bord du lac de Côme), les différents personnes assistants à ce séminaire ont pu échanger dans une trés bonne ambiance, leur avis sur les travaux et les futures avancées de ces réseaux en pleine expansion.

Définition d'un réseau de capteurs, du matériel utilisé, des perspectives de recherche, des différentes applications possibles et de la possible collaboration avec l'Université de Berkeley aux USA.

L'idée vient de Kris Pister, professeur à l'Université Californienne de Berkeley: des puces éléctroniques bardées de capteurs et communiquant entre elles par des liaisons sans fil, relaient des informations jusqu'à un système informatique centralisé. On peut ainsi établir la cartographie d'une zone, prenant en compte des données comme la lumière, le bruit, les mouvements, le magnétisme,etc. Cette technologie, baptisée Smart Dust (poussière intelligente), était à l'origine destinée à l'exploration de Mars. Mais elle trouve de multiples applications dans la surveillance de bâtiments ou de sites naturels (intrusion, pollution, incendie,etc.). Smart Dust peut même s'assurer de la santé des individus en analysant leurs pulsations cardiaques et leur température..........
Le projet d'utilisation de capteurs miniatures basé sur un réseau sans fil est d'actualité à l'Université de Corse : le sujet de ma thèse (voir la piéce jointe). L'objectif de ces travaux est d' utiliser des senseurs produits sur le marché, de les modéliser à partir d'un formalisme à événements discrets et de simuler leur protocole de communication, en vue d'une application sur les feux de forêts. Ceci est une brève description des travaux futurs mais dans une vision plus élargie, ces derniers peuvent s'inscrire dans le vaste projet Smart Dust.

En 2004, nous avons pu mettre en avant la capacité du formalisme DEVS pour la modélisation et la simulation de voies métaboliques (voir le PDF). Nous avons pu grâce à une implémentation en Pyhton modéliser et simuler la Glycolyse, l'une des plus importante voies métaboliques de notre corps. (Voici une présentation)


Abstract
In the bioinformatic research domain, the systemic approach (considering a cell as a system) is growing up very quickly. Most of the significant current researches focus on mathematical formalisms. However, the discret event simulation is so mature nowadays, that it can be considered as the equivalent of the differential equation in the continuous models domain. We purpose to use a new formalism in the bioinfomatics domain, the DEVS discret event formalism, and to apply it to the modeling and the simulation of a metabolic pathway, the glycolysis.
